France's Total to invest in British shale gas

PARIS, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- French oil giant Total announced on Monday it has acquired a 40-percent interest in two shale gas exploration licences in Britian, becoming the world's first major oil company to invest in shale gas in the country.
