A £20mn Green Deal Communities scheme to help local authorities deliver the energy efficiency scheme has been unveiled by the government.
The fund, announced on 25 July, will support local authorities, in partnership with local community organisations and businesses, to encourage take-up of the Green Deal in whole streets and areas throughout the country.
The government also confirmed that a £200mn energy efficiency scheme for homes in the north-east––Warm Up North––has been announced by Newcastle City Council. Up to 50,000 households and businesses in the north-east are set to benefit.
